CARES4You STEM Day 3
CARES4You is hosting an exciting opportunity designed for NYC public middle school students to engage with Weill Cornell Medicine and Meyer Cancer Center labs and trainees! This interactive program aims to spark interest in diverse STEM fields, including Information Technology.
The event will include 4 engaging demonstrations:
Learn microscope basics and visualize healthy vs. cancerous cells.
Discover how AI is used in mammograms to identify cancer cells.
Create a human lung model using simple household supplies.
Extract DNA from strawberries!
Please note that this event is exclusive to schools participating in CARES4You.

Murals4Change Community Paint Day
Groundswell students & the SoCa Center will host a fun-filled afternoon creating a historic piece of art!
Whether you are a seasoned artist or just like to get your hands dirty, Groundswell Community Paint days are an opportunity to join a collective mural-making process. To learn more about Groundswell, visit their website here!

SUNY Downstate’s 1st Annual Mentorship Symposium
SUNY Downstate, one of SoCa’s collaborating institutions, is excited to announce its first ever Annual Mentorship Symposium. The goal of this symposium is to advance the science and practices of mentorship in biomedical, behavioral, and clinical research. The Keynote Speaker will be Adaira Landry, MD, MEd, Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
